Kakamega Homeboyz beat Kariobangi Sharks 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the FKF Cup staged at the MISC Kasarani on Sunday.
The game had started in a brilliant fashion but while no one saw the better of the other in the first 30 minutes, the floodgates were to be opened in the 38th minute when Hillary Otieno was to head past the Sharks keeper following a swift move by the Kakamega based side.

Two minutes later, it was 2-0 for Homeboyz with Ambrose Sifuna cut back being converted by Kevin Amwayi. And while the striker was to see his effort hit the post, the rebound was tucked in by Sharks defender Geoffrey Onyango for an own goal. Homeboyz were not done yet as they were to score a third two minutes later through Ambrose Sifuna who slotted past Kevin Ouru for a 3-0 lead at the break.
The dent had seen Sharks head coach William Muluya throw in Mathew Kibiwott and Paul Odhiambo for Isaac Wasambo and Fred Alushula in the first half but it was Homeboyz who scored a fourth minutes after resumption through substitute Vincent Ogola for his first goal in Homeboyz colors since joining in midseason from Vihiga Bullets.

Keith Imbali was to reduce the arrears for Sharks but two minutes later, Felician Okanda maintained the three-goal cushion for Homeboyz with a fifth for the Patrick Odhiambo side just a minute after Sharks captain Kevin Otiala had been sent off for a second bookable offence.
Sharks were given a chance to reduce the arrears in the 58th minute after being awarded a penalty when Hillary Juma brought down Patrick Ngunyi in the box but Tyson Otieno’s effort was saved by Faruk Shikhalo much to the delight of the Homeboyz bench.
Substitute Enock Masinza was to put Ogola through with the ex-Bullets striker making no mistake from close range for his second and Homeboyz’s sixth goal ten minutes from time.
