Harambee Stars midfielder Kenneth Muguna has returned to the FKF Premier League after signing for Police FC.
While many feel it’s a step down for a player many hold in high regard, the financial offer Police had on the table for a player who just joined them as a freebie would make sense for most footballers who are at the twilight of their careers.

Pepeta had reported that Police was one of the four teams who expressed interest in the player and had to offer a good amount of money to wade off competition from Angola’s Sagrada Esperanca who were offering better perks on bonuses for the player.
In the signed documents in Pepeta’s possession, Muguna has signed a one-year deal with the law enforcers. In this period, the former Gor Mahia captain will walk home with a monthly salary of Sh 250000 (minus bonuses that might arise from winning games). Furthermore, Police had to part with Sh 1.5M as a sign-on fee for the player.

For the player, joining Police was a no-brainer after having a sit down with the club’s chairman and CEO and a further phone call with coach Francis Baraza convinced him that he was joining a team with a well-laid plan.
“Iv joined Police because among other clubs, they explained their project better. I had a chat with both the CEO and the chairman and a further talk with coach Barry (Francis Baraza) whom Iv known for some time did the trick. I’m ready for the challenge and will do my best in ensuring that we achieve our goals collectively,” Muguna told Pepeta.
Police finished third last season despite investing heavily in players and will hope they can go a step further this season with the team already being linked with some of the best players in the top flight.
