Football Kenya Federation has roped in Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, (KBC) as its official FKF Premier League Free to Air (FTA) broadcast partner for the next seven years.
The partnership comes just a few months after the Federation signed a broadcasting deal with Azam Tv as their official pay Tv partner.
The partnership will see the Federation receive USD 1,250,000 Million for the first season, with an increment of USD 100,000 for the subsequent seasons. KBC, on its part, shall air a total of 68 matches, two every match week, on its TV and Radio platforms.

Speaking about the deal, FKF President Nick Mwendwa said: “This partnership will go a long way in making Kenyan football more accessible for viewership to every household. This exposure will not only increase the commercial value of the league but shall also aid in our long-term vision of making the FKF Premier League self-sustainable.
“The Ministry of Sports has been very supportive of the Federation’s football development programs at the national level and for this, we say asante sana.”
Part of the money will be used to pay referees in the National Super League and the FKF Women Premier League with the FKF Premier League winner set to walk home with KES 5M. There will be an awards gala at the end of the season with all these being funded by part of the deal.
The Kenya Broadcasting Channel, the Kenya national broadcaster, will begin airing the FKF Premier League matches from matchday 13 this weekend.
