Benson Omala scored in stoppage time as Gor Mahia beat Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 in a FKF Premier League game staged on Sunday at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
Gor had come into the match knowing that a win was to send them on top of the league table after Posta Rangers had lost on Saturday. But Sharks gave them all the trouble until stoppage time in the first half when Chris Alpha long-range shot outside the box gave them the lead.

A triple substitution minutes after the hour mark saw Lawrence Juma, Kevin Juma and Patrick Kaddu all brought in to boost the attack but it was Sharks who restored parity ten minutes from time through Ghai Panchol.
With the game headed for a draw, Omala popped up in the 90th minute with the winner after tapping in a Lawrence Juma cross with the goal taking his season’s tally to nine goals in the season.
In other matches of the day, Muhoroni Youth’s sorry form continued in Mbaraki when they were beaten 1-0 by Bandari FC; Abdallah Hassan scored the all-important goal in the 35th minute.
A Clinton Kinanga brace saw Police FC beat Murang’a Seal 2-0 with Kakamega Homeboyz having Chris Masinza to thank in their 1-0 win over Bidco United in a clash staged at the Bukhungu Grounds.
Nzoia’s downward spiral continued as they went 3-1 down to Sofapaka FC in a clash staged at Sudi Grounds. Abdul Razak’s brace and Darius Msagha’s goal were enough to render Osoro’s strike on the hour mark as a mere consolation; the tie having Benson Mangala sent off nine minutes from time.
