Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omolo is off to a flying start as the Shabana FC head coach following their 5-2 win over Nzoia Sugar FC in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League game staged on Sunday at the Sudi Grounds.
Justine Omwando grabbed a hattrick with Mathew Tegesi grabbing a brace to render Emmanuel Osoro and Salim Murunga strikes as mere consolations for the home side.
Omwenda had given Nzoia a 20th-minute lead but Omwendo restored parity just two minutes later. Omwendo was to grab his brace with a well-taken screamer to ensure that the visitors headed to the break with a 2-1 lead.
Nzoia were not going to give up easily and restored matters minutes after resumption through Murunga’s penalty but Omwando had other thoughts as he completed his hattrick in the 71st minute from the spot before debutant Tegisi ensured the points were safe with two other more goals before the game ended.
In another game of the day, Jaffari Odeny’s superb strike in the first half was all AFC Leopards needed to overcome a stubborn Muhoroni Youth in a rainy soaked Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo in Kisumu.
Other games saw KCB hold Ulinzi Stars to a scoreless draw at the Ulinzi Complex with Nairobi City Stars beating Posta Rangers 1-0 thanks to Bajaber Mohammed’s strike.
