Gor Mahia sent a message a message of intent in round 19 of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) after beating title rivals Tusker FC.

Gor remains unbeaten in the league and are on course to defend their title as they seek to return to continental football next season. But what else happened over the week?

AFC Leopards wins again

For the first time this season, AFC Leopards has won their third game on the trot following their 2-0 win over Nairobi City Stars at the Bukhungu Grounds.

City Stars who have had a perfect season did well in containing their opponents in the first half but were to be breached two minutes after resumption by Maxwell Otieno before Kevin Kimani ensured the points were safe later on.

The win propels Ingwe to tenth in the league and while City Stars remains second, they are only a point above third placed Posta Rangers and two above Tusker FC and Bandari.

Tito Okello shines again for Police FC

Tito Okelo bagged a brace as Salim Babu punished his former employers Nzoia Sugar FC 2-0 in a league game played at the Police Pavillion on Sunday.

Okelo’s first came from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by his opponents with the South Sudanese towering above the Nzoia defence to head in the second after a perfect delivery from Mang’eni.

New Coach, Same result for Murang’a Seal

Murang’a Seal winless streak was extended to nine games following their 0-1 loss to Posta Rangers on Sunday.  The all-important goal in the match was bagged by Brian Marita with the win sending Rangers to third on the league table.

It was another sad outing for the FKFPL newbies who had a promising start to the season and despite having a new man in charge in Abdalla Juma, they couldn’t conjure a result for their fans who have had higher expectations from the team.

While they are still safe on the league table, their form should be a worry for the coach as they have tough fixtures coming up. Their next tie will be against Bandari FC followed by duels against AFC Leopards, Bidco United, KCB and Sofapaka FC.
