New AFC Leopards striker Arthur Gitego has expressed his interest in leaving the club in June for a better team.
Gitego moved to the den in the midseason transfer window and has been a revelation for the club where he has bagged four goals in two games; a streak that saw him get a call-up to the Rwandese national team that played international friendlies with Botswana and Madagascar in Antananarivo.

In an interview with the Rwandese portal The Times, the 22-year-old maintains that his ambition is to move to Europe and will be giving his best at his current station to ensure he realizes that dream come June.
“I am working hard so that I can be ready when I want to go to the top club, I need to keep moving from one step to another to master my game. My goal is that, in June, I would like to change the team but of course, it has to be a top team.
“I would love to go somewhere higher because everything is possible if you pray, fight, believe and wait for a chance. I understand that I will not end my contract here, I am confident that a team, a good team, will come and buy my contract,” he said.
Gitego previously played for Heroes FC, Kiyovu Sports and Gicumbi FC. His last stint in Rwanda was with Marines FC where he scored 16 goals in his one and a half years spell before moving to Leopards in February 2024.
