The relegation dogfight will go to the wire after Sofapaka FC became the latest team to rise higher following their win over Posta Rangers on Wednesday.
The Zedekiah Otieno-coached side were third from bottom heading to round 30 of action but their 2-1 win over Rangers in a game staged at the Kenyatta Stadium now sees them push two positions up after teams around them failed to record wins.

Muhoroni Youth (now on 28 points) held Bandari FC to a scoreless draw at the Muhoroni Stadium with Shabana FC forced to come from a goal down to hold FC Talanta, who are not out of the relegation picture yet, to a 1-1 draw at the Raila Odinga Stadium on the same day.
At the upper echelons of the table, Gor Mahia got a boost in their title defence as Police FC and Tusker FC all dropped points on Wednesday.
Police went 0-1 down to AFC Leopards thanks to Victor Omune who popped up with the winner from the bench in a match staged at the now busy Dandora Stadium.
Tusker were the biggest losers as they threw a two-goal lead to be held to a 2-2 draw by Nairobi City Stars. Michael Kibwage and Eric Kapaito (who notched his 11th goal of the season), had put the Robert Matano side on the driving seat only for Samuel Kapen to reduce the arrears 12 minutes from time before Mohamed Ali Bajaber popped with the equalizer from the penalty spot in the dying minutes of the game.
In other games, Murang’a Seal and Kariobangi Sharks fought to a goalless draw with Ulinzi Stars beating Bidco 1-0.
