Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has released a statement following the abandonment of the Mozzartbet Cup semi-final clash between Police FC and AFC Leopards.
The match had to be called off on Sunday at the Police Sacco Stadium following an injury to one of the officials at a time when Police were leading 1-0 courtesy of a first-half strike by Titto Okello.

In the statement, FKF noted that assistant referee Samuel Kuria was struck by an object by a fan in an incident that saw a walk-off from all those involved in the game on Sunday; the matter is set to be forwarded to the FKF Leagues and Competitions committee for further action.

The Mozzart Bet Cup semi-final match between Kenya Police and AFC Leopards was abandoned in the 60th minute due to an injury sustained by the second assistant referee, Samuel Kuria
Kuria was struck by an object, rendering him unable to effectively officiate and in need of urgent medical attention. To ensure the safety of players, officials, fans, and staff, the match officials made the decision to walk off the field.
At the time of abandonment, Kenya Police held a 1-0 lead courtesy of Tito Okello’s 7th-minute goal.
Consequently, this matter will be forwarded to the FKF Leagues and Competitions committee for a determination upon receipt of the match officials’ reports.
