KCB FC booked a place in this year’s Mozzartbet Cup finals after beating Kariobangi Sharks 4-2 in post-match penalties following a 1-1 draw in regular time in a game staged on Sunday afternoon at the Police Sacco Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Derrick Otanga gave the bankers a 77th-minute lead but Sharks restored parity three minutes later through Fortune Omotto.

The game headed to extra time with no side getting the better of the other. In the shootout, keeper Farouk Shikhalo was the hero of the match as he saved two penalty kicks. Sharks’ Geoffrey Onyango and Stanley Wilson missed their efforts with KCB goals coming from Otanga, Henry Onyango, Danson Chetambe and Brian Ndenga who was named the man of the match.
The other semifinal of the competition between AFC Leopards and Police FC was cut short due to crowd trouble. Police had been leading 1-0 through an early goal from Tito Okello but the clash was to be stopped on the hour mark following an injury to the second assistant referee, Samuel Kuria.
FKF has since released a statement saying the 30 minutes remaining will be played tomorrow at the same ground to get the team that will play KCB in the final but there is expected to be a tug of war after AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda said they won’t be sending their team tomorrow to finish the game.
