When Michael Karamor left Kakamega Homeboyz in September 2023, his only ambition was to join a club that would hand him more game time.
After failed trial sessions with Nairobi City Stars and FC Talanta, the soft-spoken Ugandan found himself at Kisumu Allstars having been in the books of Sofapaka previously and revealed that he chose to come back to Kisumu to get his scoring touch back as it is an environment he knows well after a previous stint with Western Stima (now defunct).

“After I left Kakamega Homeboyz there were teams who were after my services including Muhoroni Youth but I needed a challenge in a new environment that’s why I had a trial session in Nairobi with two teams. Things didn’t work out and I needed a club that would give me more game time so I decided to come back to Kisumu. I have been here before and I knew AllStarlets would be the perfect environment for me to re-invent myself,” he tells Pepeta after AllStars training session on Tuesday morning.
The player who has so far bagged 15 goals, one short of top scorer Philemon Nyakwaka, believes he has what it takes to bag the NSL Golden Boot but maintains that his aim from the start of the season was to bag 20 goals.
“I wasn’t so keen on the golden boot but my ambition was to score 20 goals this season. I believe I have placed myself in a good position to achieve that,” he adds.
He further opened up on how life at AllStars has been challenging and revealed that he already had an offer from an FKF Premier League club.
“Its not been easy here financially but we have a good team and a good bond. We’ve fought as brothers and I believe we have done well. There is a team (in the FKFPL) that has shown interest already for my services but I have told them that my sole concentration right now is to finish the season strongly,” he concludes.
AllStars will be hosting Vihiga Bullets in another tricky affair this weekend before ties against Migori Youth, MCF FC and Kibera Black Stars.
