Tusker FC defender Daniel Sakari is looking for more after captaining his side to a 1-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz in their final game of the 2023/24 season.

Sakari is one of the five players in the leadership group at the club and while he has barely touched the armband, he is already looking for more of such responsibilities after being handed the honour to wear the armband.

“It is a moment of pride for me. It feels amazing, and definitely more of this to come,” Sakari is quoted by the club’s portal. “It was great to finish off the season with victory. We have played against them (Homeboyz) thrice this season and they beat us two times, but we had to ensure we get some respect back by winning the last game of the season.”

The right back, whose versatility saw him slot at left back at certain points of the season, was however not pleased at how their season went and promised their fans that they will come better in the next campaign.

“We will keep on working and just becoming better. With time we will be a great team and we hope for a better next season. We want to battle and win trophies. We thank the fans for their support this season and we promise to do better next season and make them proud,” he added.

Tusker finished second this season with 65 points, eight points behind leader Gor Mahia and with no trophy to show.
