Despite winning the title weeks ago, Mara Sugar has officially been crowned Champions of the National Super League today despite losing 2-1 to Vihiga Bullets at the Police Sacco Stadium.
Bullets opened the scoring proceedings in the 28th minute through Denilson Imbayi for a 1-0 lead at half time. Michael Isabwa restored parity earlier in the second half but Bullets weren’t going to lose hope easily and popped up with the winner in the 71st minute through John Nyawir.

With the season over, Mathare United will be joining Mara in the FKF Premier League next season with Naivas securing position three and will now participate in the FKF Premier League/National Super League promotion playoff.
Naivas will be up against Sofapaka FC for a spot in the Kenyan top flight after the latter finished third from bottom in the just-concluded season. The first leg of the playoff will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024, and the second leg on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Kajiado, Gusii, and Silibwet will be relegated to the FKF Division One League for the 2024/25 season.
In the golden boot race, Nairobi United’s Henry Omollo walked home with the gong after banging 17 goals, just one more than former Mara Sugar forward Philemon Nyakwaka, Kisumu Allstars’ Michael Karamor, and Mombasa Elite’s Emmanuel Lunalo.
