Austin Odhiambo and Lydia Akoth walked home with the MVP Awards at the end-of-season Gala of the Football Kenya Federation held on Friday evening.
Austin was a revelation to Gor Mahia as they defended their FKF Premier League title with Lydia being a key player as Kenya Police FC lifted their maiden FKF Women Premier League title, an outing that saw her coach Beldine Odemba walk away with the coach of the season award after leading them to an unbeaten season.

The Coach of the Year awards in the Men’s category went to Jonathan Mckinstry who was in charge of Gor Mahia but has since left the team for the Gambia National team.
In a gala that was dominated by Gor, striker Benson Omalla walked away with the Golden Boot award after bagging 19 goals last season with Vihiga Queens’ forward Tumaini Waliaula walking with the boot in the Women’s category following her 16 goals.
The Golden Glove award in the FKF Women Premier League was shared between Judith Osimbo of Ulinzi Starlets and Sophy Akinyi of Vihiga Queens, both of whom recorded 10 clean sheets. In the FKF Premier League, Gor Mahia’s Kevin Omondi achieved 21 clean sheets, securing the Golden Glove in the men’s league.
Josephine Wanjiku and Dickens Mimisa were honored with the FKF Women Premier League and FKF Premier League Referee of the Year awards, respectively.
Tusker FC and Vihiga Queens were recognized with the Social Media of the Year awards for their respective leagues, while Shabana and Vihiga Queens were awarded the Fair Play Awards
Junior Starlets Head Coach Mildred Cheche received the President’s Award for her exceptional leadership in guiding her team to Kenya’s first World Cup appearance in football.
