“I missed the league opener due to injury, but I told myself it wouldn’t keep me out for long. I recovered well, trained hard, and motivated myself to get back. That’s how I made the travelling squad for the match against KK Homeboyz.”

On his take on his first game, Ouru added; “It was my first game in top-flight football, something I’ve always dreamt of. I’ve never played in the FKF Premier League, but it’s a competition I’ve always wanted to be part of. I took my opportunity, and I believe I played well, though the coach will have the final say on that. I was subbed off in the 70th minute due to a knock, but it wasn’t serious, so I’ll be ready for the next game and aim to perform even better.”

“The FKF Premier League is of great quality, with more focus on tactics and details. I feel I have what it takes to compete at this level.”

Having joined Mathare United from National Super League side Naivas Fc in the recently concluded transfer window, Ouru will be hoping to have more playing time when they take on Sofapaka FC in their next league match scheduled for Ulinzi Complex on Saturday 21st, September 2024 from 3 pm.
