Kahiro opened the scoring in the 28th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to give his side the lead. He added his second shortly before the break, showcasing his clinical finishing ability. Substitute Stephen Etyang sealed the win with two minutes remaining in the clock; a result that saw the bankers surge to the top of the standings with seven points from three matches.

The bankers have already Kariobangi Sharks and Murang’a Seal with the clean sheet on Saturday being Farouk Shikalo’s third this season as they are yet to concede a goal this campaign.

In another game of the day, AFC Leopards broke their long-standing winless streak against Bidco United, securing a 1-0 win. Ingwe had not beaten Bidco in four years, and this victory was a much-needed morale booster after last weekend’s loss to Posta Rangers.

New signing Sydney Lokale made an instant impact coming off the bench to score the winning goal in the 63rd minute, his second goal for the Leopards having scored in the opening fixture against Mathare United. The former FC Lupopo player connected with a precise cross from Ronald Sichenje, slotting the ball home to seal AFC Leopards’ second win of the season. This result comes after a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Posta Rangers in their previous game.

Mara Sugar FC Bounce Back with Narrow Win Over City Stars

Newbies Mara Sugar FC edged out Nairobi City Stars 1-0 to claim their second win of the season. The Millers showed grit and determination, bouncing back after a disappointing 1-0 loss to Bandari FC in Mombasa last week.

The lone goal came in the 60th minute courtesy of Dennis Cheruiyot, lifting Mara Sugar to six points in the league standings.

At Police Sacco Stadium, Sofapaka FC and Mathare United extended their winless streaks with a 1-1 draw. Paul Kinyanjui fired Mathare into the lead with a stunning strike after being set up by Eli Asieche. Sofapaka’s new signing, Benjamin Mosha, equalized in the 69th minute.

It was Sofapaka’s first point of the season after losing their previous two games, while Mathare United picked up their second point. Both teams remain winless after three league matches.
