AFC Leopards Head Coach Thomas Trucha has expressed concerns about the capacity of Dandora Stadium, despite his side’s recent back-to-back victories at the venue.
Following a 2-1 win against Nairobi City Stars, Trucha insisted that the current stadium size limits the number of fans who can comfortably attend matches.

“We need at least a 10,000 to 15,000 capacity stadium,” Trucha said after the match. “I believe many fans don’t show up because they feel a bit uncomfortable. It’s good that Dandora Stadium is an improvement compared to Thika Stadium, but it’s still not ideal. It will be a relief when Nyayo Stadium or Talanta City Stadium becomes available, then we’ll have what we’re asking for. Until then, we appreciate what we have.”
In the match, AFC Leopards took the lead early in the 15th minute with a goal from Victor Otieno. City Stars responded with an equalizer just 15 minutes later when Elvis Noor’s brilliant header found the back of the net.
However, just before halftime, Leopards regained the lead after a shot from Hassan Beja was deflected into the City Stars’ net, giving Leopards a 2-1 advantage at the break.
The second half saw both teams create chances, but neither could add to the score line. AFC Leopards’ goalkeeper Levis Opiyo made a crucial match-winning save, denying City Stars’ Kalama from a tight angle late in the game, preserving the victory.
