Kakamega Homeboyz, Sofapaka FC and Bidco United recorded their first wins in this season’s FKF Premier League in their respective games staged on Wednesday 23, October 2024.

Homeboyz ran 2-0 winners over Nairobi City Stars in a clash staged at the Mumias Complex from 2pm EAT.

Homeboyz who had parted ways with head coach Ken Kenyatta after their weekend 4-1 loss to KCB took a sixth-minute lead through Oliver Majak who connected well with an Ambrose Sifuna cross. Visitors City Stars had a perfect chance of restoring parity four minutes later when they were awarded a penalty spot after Yuto Kusaba was brought down.

Keeper James Ssetuba going ahead to save the Japanese resultant penalty to keep his side in the game. Moses Shumah was to double the hosts lead just at the stroke of half time with the second half bearing no fruits. The win will be a boost for the side who have been linked with former Tusker FC head coach Francis Baraza.

At the Sportpesa Arena, Desmond Agofa scored a stoppage time goal to hand Bidco United their first win of the season courtesy of a 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks.

At the Gusii Stadium, Sofapaka also recorded their first win of the season after seeing off hosts Shabana FC 1-0. An early goal from Douglas Ochoko was all the Robert Matano side needed to notch all the three important points as they seek to stay away from relegation earlier in the season.

In another game, Mara Sugar came from a goal down to hold visiting Posta Rangers to a 1-1 draw as FC Talanta held Bandari FC to a goalless draw at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
