Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere is worried about his team’s lack of defending goals in this season’s FKF Premier League.

Tusker has only kept one clean sheet in the seven games played this season and conceded three goals against KCB over the weekend. Asked by the club’s media team if he was worried about the rate at which they were conceding, Okere said; “We are not resilient enough because every game has pressure. So, if we can’t resist the pressure then you will always concede.”

On the game against KCB, the tactician felt that his boys gave their all after starting slowly and allowing their opponents to kill them from the flanks.

“We started the game slowly but finished strongly so I have to congratulate the boys. They gave their all in the game and its only unfortunate that we couldn’t pick the three points today.

“It was a surprise to us because its not something we expected. We had worked on KCB’s strength the entire week but we let them bring in the crosses from the wide areas and that’s where they scored. We will have to go back again to the drawing board and try to fix that,” he added.

Okere further defended his players stating that they had played a lot of games in a week but decided to dwell on the positives.

“The boys gave their hearts. We played three matches in a week and it’s not easy. There are negatives but we have positives too. Nobody has been declared a champion in this league so we will still fight,” the coach concluded.

Attention for Tusker now shifts to their next game where they are scheduled to take on Bandari FC.
