Gor Mahia head coach Martin Neiva has admitted that his players were fatigued after featuring for non-league side A Mosquito FC.
The club fans have been on the player’s neck blaming them for unsanctioned tournaments with the team and Leiva has come out to admit that the effect of featuring in many tournaments took a toll on his players in games against KCB and Nairobi City Stars.

In an interview with Flashscore, Neiva said; “The Mosquito FC tournament certainly affected the draw against (KCB) and the defeat to Nairobi City Stars, as it significantly affected the physical aspect of my players and the team.”
The Brazilian however urged the fans not to press the panic button just yet as the league had become more competitive as seen by how other ‘giants’ were struggling.
“I can say that we will certainly recover ourselves, but we can see that this season the league is more competitive and balanced. All of the giants in the Premier League are going through difficulties, it is not Gor Mahia alone,” Neiva added.
“In other games where we started leading and conceded goals in the second half… there was a lack of concentration to maintain the victory. Football is detailed. We should work very hard to improve the management of the game.”
Neiva will be hoping that the two weeks accorded to him by the FIFA International Break will be enough for him to put his team in order with arch-rivals AFC Leopards being next in their roster of fixtures.
