Shabana FC’s striker Mathew Tegisi is aiming to win the FKF Premier League Golden Boot this season.
The declaration comes a day after he notched the only goal to help his side to a 1-0 win over Murang’a Seal in round nine of league action in what was his fourth goal of the season.
In his post-match interview, Tegisi told Pepeta; “I knew I was going to score against Murang’a Seal because I want to be the top scorer in the league.”

His four goals are still two behind top scorers Ryan Ogam and Francis Kahiro but Tegisi is confident that he can catch up his competitors if he keeps on working hard.
“There are others in front of me, but I’ll keep working hard. I know it’s not easy, but I’m determined to push through,’ he added.
Having earned a call-up to the national team for the CHAN qualifiers, the former Gusii Fc striker is eager to expand his experience and continue growing both as a player and as a person.
“I’ve learned so many things in the national team,” he said. “It’s so encouraging for me because it’s not easy to earn a call-up, but I’ll continue working hard.”

While Tegisi’s performances are impressive, he recognizes the crucial role his teammates play in his pursuit of the Golden Boot.
“My teammates are the ones who can make me the top scorer. If we work in coordination, everything can go on well,” he concludes.
Shabana has a date against AFC Leopards in their next game and Tegisi will be hoping that he can be on the scoresheet again.
