Police who are still under interim manager Beldine Odemba couldn’t have hoped for a worse start when they were to go behind just after three minutes when the on-form Francis Kahiro gave the bankers the lead.
The Bankers will however be worried about their dangerman heading into the busy December month as Kahiro was stretched off just after 35 minutes with his place being taken by Stephen Etyang. Despite the setback, the Patrick Odhiambo side were to go to the halftime break with a 1-0 lead.
Odemba was to wait until the hour mark to make two substitutions as she worked on boosting her attack. In came Jaffari Owiti and Tyson Otieno for Eric Zakayo and Brian Musa and the increase of impetus in the attacking third paid dividends immediately with Francis Kahata restoring parity three minutes later.
While Police added David Simiyu to the team in place of Baraka Badi, it was KCB who ought to have regained their lead when Derrick Otanga missed a golden opportunity towards the end of the game. Simiyu was to be substituted again for Clinton Kinanga as the law enforcers looked for a winner but no one was to get the better of the other despite an additional five minutes.
While KCB are now six points above the league table, Mara Sugar might reduce the gap to two points if the newbies can beat Tusker FC tomorrow.
