The match started with United pressing for an early advantage. In the 16th minute, Frank Ouya squandered a golden opportunity, failing to convert a one-on-one chance that could have given the hosts the lead. Minutes later, Isaac Omweri came agonizingly close when his powerful strike rattled the crossbar.

Blackboots responded with some attacking flair of their own coming close in the 30th minute but the header went wide. In the dying moments of the first half, Daniel Bichiok showcased his defensive prowess, clearing a goal-bound effort from the visitors, ensuring the score remained goalless at halftime.

The second half saw both teams increase their intensity. Samwest Blackboots made a tactical substitution, bringing on Nehemiah Onchiri, who made an immediate impact. Onchiri broke the deadlock in the 71st minute with a well-placed strike.

Nairobi United, however, were not to be outdone. In the 80th minute, Isaac Ouma levelled the score with a brilliant finish from a tight angle. The hosts pushed for a winner in the final minutes but were met with resolute defending from the visitors.

The draw comes after United’s impressive 2-0 away victory over Fortune Sacco in their previous outing. For Samwest Blackboots, this result marks their second consecutive draw, following a thrilling 2-2 stalemate against Luanda Villa at Mumboha Grounds.
