Nairobi City Stars and Kariobangi Sharks played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Dandora Stadium in an FKF Premier League match on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024.
The game started with notable changes in goal for both sides. Sharks’ first-choice goalkeeper, Sebastian Wekesa, remained on the bench for the second consecutive match, with Bernard Jairo starting. Similarly, Stars opted for Elvis Ochoro in goal, with regular starter Edwin Mukolwe absent.

Stars took an early lead in the 13th minute when Mohammed Bajaber scored a stunning goal. Assisted by Brian Mzee, Bajaber slotted home, giving his side an advantage despite Sharks dominating possession with their trademark flair and tiki-taka style.
Sharks continued to control the game and were rewarded with a penalty late in the first half. Ghai Panchol stepped up to take it and converted with composure, levelling the score at 1-1 by halftime.
The second half began with a bang as Sharks’ youngest star, Andreas Odhiambo Omondi, gave his team the lead in the 49th minute. Assisted by Isaac Wasambo, Omondi fired a perfectly placed shot from just outside the box, leaving City Stars goalkeeper Ochoro with no chance. This marked Omondi’s second goal of the season, further cementing his reputation as a rising star in the league.
Stars, however, were not done. In the 60th minute, Brian Mzee found the back of the net with a powerful header from a precise delivery by Yuto Kusaba, levelling the score once again at 2-2.
Despite Sharks’ dominance in possession, City Stars held their ground with a disciplined counterattacking approach. Both sides created chances in the closing stages, but neither managed to find a winner.
