Football Kenya Federation (FKF) TransNzoia County is set to launch the highly anticipated TransNzoia County League which is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

This initiative will mark a major milestone in the county’s commitment to running grassroots talent and fostering unity through sports.

According to a communication sent to media rooms by the body, the league will contain 62 men’s and 18 women’s teams across all sub-counties of Kwanza, Endebess, Cherenganyi, Kiminini, and Saboti.

“It (the tournament) aims to provide a platform for young players to showcase their skills, compete at a professional level, and pave the way for their future success in national and international football,” part of the communication noted.

Speaking about the launch, Chairman Isaac Munene emphasized the league’s importance to the community saying, “This league is more than just football, it’s about bringing people together, creating opportunities, and celebrating the passion and potential of our youth. We are committed to building a legacy of excellence in sports, and this is just the beginning.”

The opening ceremony will take place at Ndura Stadium, Kitale on January 26, 2025, starting at 10:00 am with the opening games including Bwayi vs Maridadi Allstars, Sportiff vs Arusha Combined, and Bidii Kings vs White Eagles.

The TransNzoia County League is expected to boost local sports culture and attract attention from talent scouts and sponsors eager to invest in promising players and teams. The league’s long-term vision is to serve as the stepping stone for young footballers aspiring to join the national and international stage.
