Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere has revealed his tactic moves that enabled them to record a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars in Round 18 of the FKF Premier League action.

Okere gave surprising starts to defenders Yusuf Mainge and Dennis Wanjala as wingers and in his post-match interviews, the coach stated that the move was necessitated by Ulinzi’s prowess in the wings.

“We were coming away from home and needed to show a bit of caution. We know the strength Ulinzi possesses on the wing and we needed to neutralize that. It was more of a tactical decision and we are glad it worked,” Okere said.

The coach further admitted that the second leg of the campaign won’t be an easy ride but will be taking a game at a time as they hope to wrestle the title from Gor Mahia.

“This is a marathon and there is no easy game. Every game for us is like a final and we cannot be in our comfort zone. We are here to work and get the best results in every game,” he added.

On the win against Ulinzi, Okere added, “Kudos to the players because it was a tough win. We played under very difficult conditions with extreme heat on the artificial turf. But, we had a plan, and we executed it to get the three points.”

Tusker who are placed second on the table by having an inferior goal difference than Police FC will be facing KCB FC in their next tie.
