“I am delighted to win this award and it is a huge encouragement because it shows there are people who see and recognise the work that we do. This will be a motivation for me to keep working hard to achieve the targets I have set for the season,” he said.
SJAK, in the award ceremony, revealed that Ogam edged out Olympics 5,000m and 10,000m champion Beatrice Chebet who broke the World 5km record on December 31, 2024, in Barcelona with other nominees for the month being Makueni Women Representative Rose Museo, who won the East Africa Inter-Parliamentary Games People Living With Disability (PWD) darts title in Mombasa and Nairobi City Thunders duo of Garang Ding and Albert Adera, who guided the team to becoming the first Kenyan side to qualify for the Africa Basketball League (BAL).
Ogam will be hoping that the award gives him the much-needed confidence ahead of their next league tie against KCB as they hope to topple Kenya Police FC from the top of the table.
