Mara Sugar was back to winning ways with Shabana FC being shocked by bottom-placed team Posta Rangers as AFC Leopards had keeper Levis Opiyo to thank in their scoreless draw against Kariobangi Sharks. We take a look at the major talking points of the round.

No separating Tusker from Kenya Police FC

Both teams came to the tie with the hope of picking three points to comfortably go top of the league but that wasn’t the case as they fought to a goalless draw.

The teams are both on 38 points with Police being top by having a good goal difference but with Gor Mahia and KCB winning over the weekend, both teams will be worried and must pull their socks should they want to maintain their position at the top.

Gor Mahia, KCB and Bandari Win to keep pressure on the top teams

Police FC and Tusker FC will be looking over their shoulders as teams around them all won their round 20 games.

Gor Mahia managed to record a 2-1 win over Mathare United to take their points tally to 34, having played a game less than the two best teams. KCB on the other hand recorded a 2-0 win over Murang’a Seal with Bandari beating Sofapaka FC 1-0 in Mbaraki.

With the wins, fifth-placed Bandari are just six points off the top same as KCB and any slip from the leading teams would allow them to close the gap in the coming games.

Shabana shocked by Posta Rangers

Posta Rangers arrived on Match Day 20 placed at the bottom of the table but the story changed following their 2-1 win over Shabana FC in their tie staged at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

While Shabana was the team to take the lead, a spirited fight from the Sammy Omolo side saw them score two goals to overturn Sabana’s lead and climb to 15th on the table. While Shabana remained seventh after the loss, they will have to be wary of teams around them as they are just three points above Sofapaka who are tenth.
