FKF Premier League giants AFC Leopards have parted ways with striker Arthur Gitego on mutual consent.
The Rwandese had expressed his desire to leave the club earlier in the year but retracted stating that he had talked with the club and was rearing to go again and help his team achieve his ambitions.

But on Tuesday morning, Leopards confirmed that the player was leaving the club. In a statement on their social media handles, the club noted, “We would like to confirm the release of our striker Arthur Gitego on mutual agreement. Arthur had penned a 2 years contract upon joining the club on 16th January 2024 from Marines FC.
“Gitego was the FKF Cup top scorer in the 2023/24 season with 5 goals and also scored 3 FKF-PL goals with one assist.
“We express our gratitude for his performance in the team; his expertise and dedication have played a significant role in the club. We wish Gitego the best in the next chapter of his career and thank him for his contribution to the club.”
There had been reports that the club weren’t happy with the player’s off-field life and a section of the media reported that he was a party animal something the striker denied.
There have been reports that Gitego had received offers in Asia and should complete a move in the coming days.
