FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards confirmed earlier in the week that they were parting ways with striker Arthur Gitego.
The Rwandese had been a subject of speculation in recent months and his departure came a relief to a section of the club fans who felt he had not been doing enough to the club who made him the second highest paid player in their ranks.
It has new been revealed that the player had shown some attitude issues to the club’s management and according to one of his agents in an interview with the Times of Rwanda, both parties were not happy with each other.

“Both parties were not happy with each other. There were counter accusations from both sides and each day, the tension was very high. Gitego was on 180,000 KSh a month. He was the second highest paid player at the club and they felt he was not delivering on top of his off-field escapades, they had to cut him off,” the representative said.
“The player has also been showing attitude. He also feels he isn’t being treated well as they deliberately omitted him from some games and that they should release him.”
The representative also revealed that the club sat the player down before they terminated his contract after agreeing to pay the rest of his contract out.
“The club made it clear to Gitego why they are releasing him. The striker agreed to the termination when the club agreed to pay him off the rest of the contract,” the player’s representative added.
There have been reports that the player is already on the move with an unnamed Libya club set to secure his services before the current transfer window closes.
