Mozzartbet, the official sponsor of the Mozzartbet Cup, conducted the draw of the competition on Monday 17th February in Nairobi with FKF Premier League club getting favourable opponents in the First round.
The draw has presented relatively easy matchups for FKF Premier League teams, as they have been paired against lower-tier and non-league opposition. Record champions of the FKF Cup AFC Leopards will play Dero Fc from Siaya, a team they hammered 15-1 the last time they met, record FKF Premier League winners Gor Mahia will take on KSG Ogopa, Kogalo will be looking to avoid another upset this time having been knocked out by regional league side Denmark Fc in the previous edition and the defending champions Kenya Police Fc will play Superior Hotels.

Other top-tier teams such as Tusker, Shabana, Kariobangi Sharks and KCB have also drawn opponents from the lower divisions, giving them a strong chance of progressing to the next round.
With the tournament winner earning a coveted slot in the CAF Confederation Cup, FKF Premier League sides will be eager to progress deep into the competition. However, lower-tier teams will be looking to cause upsets just like in the last edition where top-tier sides like Gor Mahia were knocked out by lower-tier outfits.
