Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) clinched the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) Western Conference title after defeating defending champions Maseno University 2-0 in the final.

The victory not only secured MMUST the championship but also served as sweet revenge, having lost to Maseno in the same competition two years ago.

Both teams showcased dominance in the preliminary stage, topping their respective groups before advancing to the semi-finals. MMUST secured their spot in the final with an impressive 3-1 win over Kaimosi Friends University, while Maseno University edged out Kisii University 2-1 in a tightly contested match.

In the final, MMUST found the back of the net in each half, securing a decisive 2-0 victory over their regional rivals to claim the Western Conference title. Despite the loss, Maseno University will still join MMUST at the KUSA Nationals, scheduled to take place in Nairobi from March 28 to 30, 2025. Both teams will now shift their focus to the national stage, where they will compete against top university teams from across the country for the coveted KUSA Nationals title.
