Moses Shumah grabbed a brace as Kakamega Homeboyz extended their unbeaten run to twelve games after beating visiting Murang’a Seal 3-1 at the Mumias Complex on Wednesday 19th February 2025.
Homeboyz coach Francis Baraza had maintained the squad that beat City Stars in their last outing with veteran keeper Patrick Matasi left on the bench. The plan seems to have worked as they were to take the lead just after 17 minutes through Shumah with the Harambee Stars striker finding his and the hosts’ second in the 38th minute.

While Lucas Maina pulled one goal back for Seal at the stroke of half-time, substitute Oliver Majak ensured Homeboyz had a two-goal cushion with a goal of his won in the 56th minute.
The brace means that Shumah is just three goals shy of top scorer Ryan Ogam of Tusker and with a chunk of games left, he’ll fancy his chances of winning the Golden Boot.
Earlier in the day, visiting Mara Sugar FC came from a goal behind to hold Posta Rangers to a 1-1 draw while Joshua Nyatini’s solo strike ensured that KCB FC beat Bandari FC 1-0 in another clash staged at the Sportpesa Arena.
In the late games, AFC Leopards versus Sofapaka and the clash between Ulinzi Stars and Kariobangi Sharks all ended in a goalless draw.
