The FKF Premier League Continued for its Round 23 where Tusker FC recorded another draw away in Bandari.

The draws have been detrimental for the Charles Okere side who have now left their fate to teams around them with Gor Mahia and Kenya Police FC having played fewer games. Here are the major talking points of the round.

Tusker records fifth consecutive draw in Mbaraki

Tusker FC lost the grip at the top of the table after recording a scoreless draw against Bandari FC in Mbaraki in the round.

The Charles Okere side has struggled to find goals in recent games with the draw being their fifth on the trot. With 41 points, Tusker is now placed second (Police FC having a superior goal difference) but has played a game more than Police and two more than Gor Mahia who are just five points below them.

Shabana ends Winless Run with style

Kakamega Homeboyz’ surge under coach Francis Baraza was stopped by Shabana FC who beat them 4-1.

Shabana had last won in January, going through a rough February when they managed three draws and a loss. In the game, they took a 32nd-minute lead through Elvis Osok. They had to wait until the 65th minute for the second goal which arrived courtesy of Oscar Juma with the same player grabbing his brace ten minutes later. Brian Michira completed the rout with the fourth goal.

Henry Omollo scored the consolation for Homeboyz in injury time but it was too little too late as Shabana had done enough to secure the win.

City remains bottom despite win

Nairobi City Stars are still rooted at the bottom of the table despite beating Ulinzi Stars 1-0 in the round.

While they are still at the bottom, the Salim Babu side are now on 22 points the same as Bidco United and FC Talanta and are just three points below the 13th-placed Posta Rangers.

In what is proving to be a tough season for the teams at the bottom, City Stars will hope that they can scrap through the remainder of the games and maintain their top-flight status.
