Mwatate United have been reinstated to the National Super League at the expense of Dimba Patriots who have since been suspended.

The development was confirmed by the Football Kenya Federation in a communication sent to newsrooms on Wednesday afternoon where they stated the decision had been reached by their League and Competition Committee.

“The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) confirms the immediate suspension of Dimba Patriots FC from the FKF National Super League (NSL), following a ruling by the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee (LCC),” the communication said.

In an official communication dated March 11, 2025, FKF General Secretary/CEO Harold Ndege stated that all 2024/2025 season fixture results involving Dimba Patriots FC have been nullified. The decision follows a comprehensive review by the LCC, which considered all submissions related to the club’s status in the league.

“Additionally, FKF has announced the reinstatement of Mwatate United FC to the FKF NSL for the 2025/2026 season. However, their participation will be subject to full compliance with mandatory registration and club licensing requirements,” the statement continued.

With the move, Dimba Patriots has informed its players that they are free to join teams of their choice, with the management ready to facilitate necessary clearances.
