The FKF Premier League Continued for its Round 24 where Tusker FC bounced back to winning ways as they fought to wrestle the title from Gor Mahia.
There was unrest in the game involving AFC Leopards and Shabana with Kariobangi Sharks hitting Mathare United in the slum derby. But what were the major talking points of the round?
Shabana holds AFC Leopards in Machakos
AFC Leopards extended their winless run in the FKF Premier League to three matches after clawing back to secure a point in a 1-1 draw with Shabana at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos on Sunday 16 March. Shabana, fueled by their travelling fanbase, took the lead in the 19th minute through Kevin Omundi Nyabuto, but the hosts bounced back with a late first-half leveller from Ovella Ochieng.

Chaos seemed to erupt in one of the stands, forcing police to fire teargas, and it was only after a brief stoppage that the players, who had been led away from the field of play, resumed action. The draw leaves both sides with just one win in their last four games.
Gor Mahia sink Bandari to push title charge
Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia moved up to third in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) standings after winning 2-0 against Coastal side Bandari FC on Saturday.
Perhaps after learning that Kenya Police had shot down Murang’a Seal in Machakos, Gor unleashed their might and secured all three points courtesy of goals from Alpha Onyango and Chris Ochieng. The defending champions are likely to move to joint top if they win their match in hand against arch-rivals AFC Leopards
Sharks maul Mathare in the Slum Derby
Leon Otieno had his markers on the toast as Kariobangi Sharks recovered from a goal down to edge Mathare United 3-1 in the second leg of the Slum Derby hosted at Dandora Stadium on Saturday.
With Sharks in dire need of maximum points, Otieno grabbed two assists and won a penalty to inspire his side to their first league win of the year. Before their Saturday clash against Mathare, Sharks had not won a league game since Sunday 8 December when they narrowly edged Posta Rangers at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
