Kenyan giants AFC Leopards have been ousted from the Mozzartbet Cup following a ruling by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Leagues & Competitions Committee.
The decision comes after Leopards’ game against league rivals Mara Sugar had to be abandoned after a section of their fans invaded the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu where the game was taking place a fortnight ago.

In the Committee’s decision, AFC Leopards SC fans were found responsible for causing the abandonment of the match by unlawfully invading the field of play.
“In accordance with Article 6.4(iv) of the Mozzart Bet Cup Regulations, read alongside Article 3.5.6 of the FKF Rules & Regulations Governing Kenyan Football, AFC Leopards SC shall forfeit the match, and Mara Sugar FC is awarded the victory and will progress to the next round of the competition,” the decision noted in part.
Apart from being ousted from the competition, Leopards has been issued with a warning regarding the misconduct of their supporters and has been advised to implement adequate measures to prevent future cases of hooliganism and violence at their matches.
