FKF Premier League side Murang’a Seal has confirmed the appointment of Yusuf Chippo as their new head coach.

The former Harambee Stars assistant replaces John Njogu, who stepped down after a 3-0 loss to Shabana FC over the weekend.

In a statement to newsrooms on Tuesday evening, Seal noted, “We are delighted to appoint Yusuf Chippo as our Head Coach. Coach Yusuf brings with him a wealth of experience in coaching at the highest level, including a spell with the National team, Harambee Stars as an assistant coach between 2008 and 2011 and also Under his coaching leadership, he won three consecutive KPL titles in a period between 2003 and 2005.”

On his new role, Chippo added, “Seals is a great outfit, and I’m grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given. I also acknowledge the immense responsibility that comes with it. No duty is impossible as long as we put in the work; we can achieve anything we set our sight on.”

Seals are just two points off bottom bottom-placed Nairobi City Stars as they have 24 points from 25 games. Chippo’s first task at the club will be against fellow strugglers Bidco United.
