West Ham United have confirmed the signing of midfielder Kalvin Philips on a loan deal from Premier League rivals Manchester City until the end of the season.
A statement from the Hammers noted: “West Ham United is delighted to confirm the signing of England midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season. The 28-year-old joins the Hammers from Manchester City and could make his debut in Thursday’s Premier League fixture with AFC Bournemouth at London Stadium.

“Capped 31 times by England, Phillips started every game as the Three Lions reached the final of UEFA Euro 2020 and appeared at the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals.”
At club level, he led his boyhood club Leeds United to the Premier League before transferring to Manchester City in the summer 2022 and winning the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup last year.
Phillips moved to the Etihad Stadium from boyhood club Leeds United in a deal worth a reported £41m, but the 28-year-old has barely featured in Pep Guardiola’s plans, making just 31 appearances for the club totalling 911 minutes.
He scored his only City goal from the penalty spot in a Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade this season, one of just 10 appearances he has made so far this term.
