Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala won’t be moving to Algeria as earlier communicated with the deal having collapsed in the last minutes.
Gor had confirmed on Monday that the striker was to spend the rest of the second half of the season at JS Sauora but a late revelation indicated that the club had submitted the needed documents late forcing the club to look for an alternative (a Congolese midfielder).

The signing of the Cameroonian means that the club has since exhausted the allowed slots for foreigners in the team; the striker is now set to stay in the FKF Premier League where he is currently the top scorer with nine goals despite failing to score in the last six games.
The move is the latest setback in the player’s career having had an unsuccessful stint with Swedish side Linkoping City back in 2020 and having not been a regular in the national team Harambee Stars despite his scoring exploits.
The player had been linked with a move to Sauora’s rivals USM Algers earlier last month but the club opted against the deal as Gor Mahia had a higher valuation of the player than what the Algerian club was willing to offer.
At Sauora, Omala was set to receive Ksh 1.3M as his monthly salary with Gor getting Ksh 3.2M for the six-month loan deal. The player was further entitled to the club bonus, a house, a personal car, and medical insurance cover.
