Egyptian giants Zamalek SC have unveiled Ugandan youngster Travis Mutyaba after handing him a four-and-a-half-year deal.
The 18-year old who has eight caps for the Uganda national team and having played for his country’s U-15s, U-17s, and U-20s was one of the most sought-after players in East Africa in the current window and had been reported to be on his way to Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi before Zamalek came knocking with his handlers abandoning the Georgian deal.

While a lot has been said about the move, the player will be smiling to the bank if the contract details revealed by Kawowo Sports are anything to go by.
The SCV Villa graduate was bought for $750,000 (sh 120M) with $ 530,000 (sh 85M) set to go to the player (as part of his signing fee) and his management team. From the deal, the parent club Sports Club Villa will earn $220,000 (sh 35M). For the first six months, the player will get a sum of $50,000 (sh 8M) as his salary; excluding club bonuses.
In the next subsequent season (2024-2025), Mutyaba will earn $120,000 (sh 19M) without the additional bonuses and allowances. The money will double for the remaining three seasons on the four-and-a-half-year contract signed with options for renewal.
Mutyaba is among the seven players signed by the White Knights after a transfer ban that was imposed on the club last year was lifted. Other are Abdallah El-Said, Mohab Yasser, Nasser Maher, Mohamed Atef, Yasser Hamed and Seif Farouk Jaafar.
