Kenyan attacker Xavier Odhiambo has joined FC Rosengård on a season-long loan deal from Landskora.

Odhiambo is a graduate of BoIS academy and has been sent to the Malmo-based club as they hope to get him more playing time as they prepare him for first team football when he returns to his parent club.

Lanskora also confirmed that they were sending Rasmus Wendt on loan to Eskilsminne IF in Ettan Södra (Swedish third tier).

Odhiambo is only doing his second senior season and now takes a place in the Malmö team Rosengård, after having been in the BoIS academy until he was picked up in the A team last summer.

BoIS sports director Billy Magnusson said of the moves: “Both players came in last summer and have been in the business for nine months. The situation, as it has developed, has meant limited playing time and after dialogue with both players and coaches, we have concluded that a loan is the best solution for the players’ development.

“Parallel to the loans, both players will continue to train with BoIS during a number of morning sessions. As with previous players on loan, we will follow the development intensively and we hope that both Rasmus and Xavier will have a positive development curve.”

Rosengård opened their season with a 0-1 loss away to Lund on Friday and will hope to change things when they host Torns in their next clash.
