Manchester United’s bid for Lille center-back Leny Yoro has been accepted according to transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano.
Yoro, considered one of the best center back under the age of 21, has been attracting interest from different teams in Europe and is believed to be keen on joining Real Madrid who are said not to be in a hurry to sign him and are willing to wait for him until the next summer.
According to Romano, the Ligue 1 club are urging the centre-half to accept Man Utd’s proposal as they need the money to offset some of their budget “however, the player remains keener on a transfer to Real Madrid and is still waiting on the 15-time European champions.
“It is now up to Yoro to decide whether to join Erik ten Hag’s men or pass up the opportunity in the hope a Bernabeu transfer goes through.”
In other reports, United have “verbally agreed personal terms” with Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, claims the Manchester Evening News. Bayern want £42million for the 24-year-old and United are optimistic of concluding a deal for Netherlands international De Ligt.
The report claims The Red Devils want to sign two centre-backs “and have had a second bid of £45m rising to £50m rejected for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite”.
