Serbian top-flight side FK Vojvodina has confirmed the signing of Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje on a six months loan deal with an option to buy in the winter window.

Sichenje was yet to feature for his parent club AIK this season and openly aired his frustration in lack of playing time and had been linked with a move back to Finland where he had been in the past season on a loan deal at KuPS.

Pepeta had revealed earlier in the week that the player had received an approach from Vojvodina with the club now confirming the purchase of the former AFC AFC Leopards center-back.

“Stopper Collins Lusaka Sičenje is the fifth reinforcement of Vojvodina in the summer transfer window,” the club said in a statement. “He is a 20-year-old football player, born in Kenya on September 19, 2003, and arrives in Vojvodina from Swedish AIK.”

“He arrives in Vojvodina on a six-month loan, but Vojvodina has the right to purchase in the winter transfer window.”

Vojvodina finished fourth in the Serbian league last season and qualified for the UEFA Europa League where they will be up against Dutch giants Ajax in the second qualifying round of the competition later this month.

Apart from Sičhenje, Vojvodina has already acquired the services of Mihai Butean, Marko Poletanović, Marko Veličković and Lukas Baros.
