Pepeta can reveal that Timbe will be handed a two-year deal with an option to extend for another year with his entourage having upped the tempo in the negotiations in the past week. Bar any calamity, the deal should be confirmed before the week ends with the player’s medical already set.
The travelled winger has been off and on in the Harambee Stars squad in recent setup by coach Engin Firat but is still considered an important member of the team.
Timbe started his football career at Ligi Ndogo, before moving to JMJ Academy who were to ship him to Belgium where he was to sharpen his skills at Anderlecht. He later went on to play for Genk and Lierse in Belgium before his journey landed him at China’s Beijing Renhe and Heilongjiang Ice City FC.
He is one of the Kenyan players to have played in the United Kingdom after representing English Championship side Reading FC on a loan deal and had other stints with Vissel Kobe in Japan and Buriram United.
Timbe made his Harambee Stars debut in 2012 against South Africa and scored his first international goal in Kenya’s 2-1 win over Mauritius in 2015 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
