Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Raheem Sterling over a sensational move to bring the England international to Old Trafford.
Sterling has been forced out of Chelsea this summer having fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under new boss Enzo Maresca.
Reports earlier this week suggested that both Juventus and Aston Villa were potential destinations for the veteran forward. But now a well-sourced report from the Telegraph has claimed that United have been in contact with Sterling’s camp over a late deal.
United are reportedly looking to make the most of the unusual situation at Chelsea, and will try to sign Sterling for free whilst allowing Jadon Sancho to go the other way.
United sporting director Dan Ashworth has been in discussions with intermediaries and believes a deal can be struck in the next few days.
