Swedish giants AIK have confirmed the loaning of Kenyan striker Henry Atola Meja for another season.
Meja spent last season at AFC Eskilstuna and was scheduled to return to his club at the end of last year but AIK have decided to extend that deal for another year.
A statement from the club noted, “AIK Football has agreed with AFC Eskilstuna to extend the loan of 23-year-old forward Henry “Meja” Atola through the 2025 season.
“Good luck, Henry!”

The former Tusker man who only made three competitive appearances for AIK spent 2023 at Norrby IF in what was his first loan outing, and last year he played for AFC Eskilstuna.
“Henry had a nice development in AFC during the last season,” says AIK’s sports director Thomas Berntsen to the club’s website. “We wish that this development will take further steps and therefore we have agreed on a new loan for 2025.”
Melke Alan, the head coach of AFC Eskilstuna, said, “The fact that Meja himself has expressed an interest in returning to us on a possible loan is strong evidence of how much he appreciates our club and the development he has received with us. That a player of his calibre sees the value of being part of AFC Eskilstuna again strengthens our position as a club that offers both support and challenges for young talents.”
In his loan stint at Eskilstuna last season, Meja managed five goals and five assists in 28 league appearances, 25 of which were starts.
The player has a running contract with AIK until September 2026.
