The player has been a subject of speculation in recent months after it emerged that his club had agreed to ship him to Tanzania where Singida Big Stars had expressed interest in signing him.

The player however refused to move to Tanzania with Pepeta now learning that he had plans of travelling to Europe in his aim to turn pro with IFK Goteborg set to be his next possible destination.

“The player has an offer from one of the top sides in Sweden who have already sent a letter to Gor Mahia. What we are waiting for is for the club to give a green light towards the trial,” one of the player’s handlers told Pepeta.

With his imminent departure, Gor Mahia is said to have approached Sofapaka FC’s Baron Ochieng to fill the void that will be left by Ronney but the player’s camp has been hesitant as there are reports that Ochieng should be making a move in June 2025.

Ochieng had travelled to Sweden last year for a trial session with Vasteras SK but little has been said on what transpired during his short stay with the Allsvenskan club.
