Speaking during his unveiling, Ssetuba expresses his joy at joining one of Kenya’s most decorated football clubs, “I am happy to have finally made this move. I feel good and relieved to join such a big and historical team. It is a privilege to be here because it is a dream for any player to get such an opportunity,” he said.

The former Kakamega Homeboyz goalkeeper also acknowledges the passionate support from AFC Leopards fans and vows to repay their faith with top performances.

“I love the way they support the team. They travel around with the team, and it’s a big motivation for us to do better. My target is to be champions with the team and be the best goalkeeper in the league.”

Ssetuba began his football journey in Entebbe, Uganda, at Entebbe Young Academy before progressing to Proline Academy, where he earned a promotion to the senior team. He played for Proline’s first team for one season before moving on to URA, Solito Black Stars, and Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Premier League.

His career has also taken him beyond Uganda, with spells in Tanzania’s Premier League, where he featured for Biashara United and FC Ihefu. In Kenya, he previously played for the now-defunct Sony Sugar before moving to Kakamega Homeboyz, where he has been a key figure since joining in 2023.

In the current FKF Premier League this season, Ssetuba has been one of the standout goalkeepers, keeping six clean sheets in 14 games and joins an already formidable goalkeeping department that includes Levis Opiyo, Humphrey Katasi, and Abubakar Musha who is likely to be loaned out.

The Ugandan shot-stopper will don the number 28 jersey as he sets his sights on helping Ingwe challenge for silverware.
