AFC Leopards have confirmed the signing of defender Fredrick Alushula on a two-year deal.

In a statement on Tuesday, Leopards wrote, “Right fullback Fredrick Alushula joins AFC Leopards from Football Kenya Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks on a 2-year contract.

“Born in Ruiru Nairobi, the 21-year-old defender started his football journey at MASA (Makongeni Sports Association) and went to Joseph Apudo Primary School.”

“His football journey blossomed at high school football powerhouse – Kakamega School, where he joined for his high school studies. He turned up for the famous Green Commandos both in high school games and in the FKF Division 1 Zone B. He won the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association with Kakamega High School.”

On his part, the player said, “I’m happy to join AFC Leopard, and I am looking forward to winning trophies with the club. I like the team’s style of play. There’s a lot of quality in the team. The team has the potential of lifting the FKF-PL this season, looking at the league table. There’s also a lot of competition among my new teammates, which will make me improve as a player.”

About the pressure that comes with playing for AFC Leopards, “If you do the right thing as a player, there’ll be very little pressure. I strive to work hard and play well according to the technical bench’s instructions, which will help me manage pressure from the fans.”

Straight from high school, Alushula joined Kariobangi Sharks in 2020, where he began his Football Kenya Premier League career, making his debut against Kakamega Homeboys in 2020. He managed to score 3 goals and 10 assists in the 4 years he has been with the Kariobangi-based side.

Alushula who has featured for the Harambee Stars U23 team join former teammate Julius Masaba at the den where he has been handed jersey number 3.
